This is a project directed by the People's Committee of Truc Bach ward (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi), open to welcome visitors for free, to recreate the atmosphere of old Hanoi and introduce Vietnamese culture and cuisine.
The "Train Line No. 6" project is named based on the idea of a train line continuing the mission of Hanoi's old system of 5 ground train lines, which has stopped operating since 1991. This is a unforgettable memories of the people of the Capital who lived in the last century.
Hanoi used to have a ground train network with 5 lines, running from 1901 - 1991. From 1984 - 1985, Hanoi Tram Company launched steam trains, not running on rails. Steam trains can run on any route in the Capital even though there is a one-way electric railway.
The first train car of "train line 6" is called "Subsidy Car: Kitchen - Pantry - Tray", with the theme of the subsidy period. All objects displayed in the train carriage are real items from the subsidy period, collectibles or donated by local people. Besides, there are some models of dishes in family meals during the subsidy period.
In terms of structure, this nostalgic space consists of 2 floors. The first floor of the tram car is a space displaying old artifacts like a "miniature museum". The 2nd floor is an area for visitors to enjoy food and sightseeing. There is also an area for newsstands, chess games... for visitors to experience.
Many people mistakenly believe that this train car is a renovated passenger car or old bus. However, this is a completely newly assembled train, closely following the design and structure of the old Hanoi train.
Around the area where Toa Subsidy is arranged, there are other display corners such as the Mobile Cinema, the bulletin board area "Nothing is more precious than independence - freedom", the area displaying Phoenix bicycle models, Unified bicycles of the subsidy period...

In addition to being a space displaying old artifacts, Toa Bao Cap also serves dishes and drinks with bold flavors of ancient Hanoi. The menu of this car is relatively diverse with refreshments such as iced tea, green tea, and raw meat with prices starting from only 5,000 VND.
The menu also has familiar snacks of the older generation such as gai cake, molasses cake, lam cake, longan cake, peanut candy, banana jam, sour spring rolls... with prices ranging from 10,000 to 60,000 VND.
The "Train Line 6" project does not stop at "Subsidized Cars". According to the plan, the project has 8 train cars arranged along Truc Bach Street.
