This trip is expected to last 25 days to the Northeast region.
12 years ago, when he was not married yet, he also drove a motorbike to “escape” Tet to travel with his current wife. As for this year’s trip, he drove with his wife and 3 sons to enjoy Tet on their own.
The couple agreed to take this trip because they wanted their eldest son to have more memories before entering first grade.
Furthermore, the father of three said: "Going abroad during Tet, we can avoid the crowds of people returning to their hometowns in the provinces and cities in the country and also avoid having to participate in endless drinking parties or karaoke."

He added: “Family is ‘home’. This trip I have my wife and children with me. So even though I am not in my usual home, I still feel happy and warm.
I myself have the opportunity to relax and go out because my customers are also on Tet holiday, no longer having to deal with work. My husband and I will have more time to teach our children about local customs. To ease our longing for the traditional Tet atmosphere, we also brought banh tet with us.”
During this Tet escape, Duy still remembers the experience of flying a hot air balloon with his eldest son in Vang Vieng, Laos. This is a small town that attracts tourists with many exciting tourist activities such as kayaking, cave exploration, ziplining, off-road racing, paragliding, etc.
Mr. Duy’s eldest son was excited all night long, waiting for the next morning to fly a hot air balloon with his father. The clear sunrise, the distant mountains appearing with the colorful hot air balloon “dots” certainly left a strong impression on all visitors about the scenery of Vang Vieng. The ticket price is 100 USD/adult (about 2.5 million VND), and for children, the ticket price is halved.

On New Year's Eve, his family stopped in Laos. According to the male tourist's observation, the local people do not celebrate Lunar New Year like the Vietnamese. However, because his family's area is quite close to China, the atmosphere to welcome the New Year is very bustling.
In the Northwest region of Vietnam, the most interesting activity for Vietnamese male tourists is bathing in mineral springs with their family in Tan Uyen commune, Lai Chau province.
Mr. Duy's wife, Ms. Ly Vu (35 years old, Ho Chi Minh City), said: "When we returned to Vietnam, our family had the chance to eat cakes and jams from our uncle and aunt at a hotel in Dien Bien province. On the first day of Tet, our uncle and aunt ran to find a restaurant for the whole family, taking care of every little thing like their own children, and before leaving, they even packed us an extra bag of cakes and jams to take with us. So cute!"
However, the trip is still going on, surprises and interesting, unique experiences are waiting for Duy's family on the roads ahead...
