According to Lao Dong, today, February 1 (the 4th day of Tet), the heat of visitors to Kien Giang in general, especially Phu Quoc City, has not cooled down.
According to Phu Quoc International Airport, from the first to the seventh day of Tet (January 29 to February 4), on average, Phu Quoc City has more than 100 flights each day bringing international and domestic visitors to the island for spring travel.
Not only that, the number of passengers coming to the island by high-speed train and ferry from the mainland is also crowded. The wharf area in Rach Gia City and Ha Tien City is packed with passengers waiting to go to Phu Quoc.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Lien, a passenger from Can Tho City, said: “Our family came to Kien Giang for spring travel, stopped at places in Ha Tien City to play and stayed overnight. Today, we took a boat from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc to continue exploring the pearl island. The number of passengers packed the pier but I found it quite orderly. My family will stay until Monday (February 3) before leaving the island.”
According to the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, today (the 4th day of Tet), the total number of tourists visiting the province is estimated at more than 94,500, an increase of 21.4% over the same period. Revenue from tourism reached over 252.7 billion VND, an increase of 12.9% over the same period. Phu Quoc City alone is estimated to welcome more than 42,400 visitors, an increase of 15.1% over the same period; Ha Tien City nearly 37,700 visitors.
Accumulated from January 25, 2025 to February 1, 2025 (26th of Tet to 4th of Tet), the total number of tourists to Kien Giang is estimated at more than 408,000, of which international visitors are more than 67,700. Phu Quoc City has the highest number with more than 258,000, followed by Ha Tien City with more than 97,500.
