On January 2, the number of tourists and resorts in the Vung Tau area (Ho Chi Minh City) increased sharply, many accommodation establishments in the high-end segment said they were fully booked; tourists have booked in advance during the holidays, especially in the coastal area.
At Malibu Vung Tau Hotel, there are quite a few tourists staying and using the service. Representatives of this establishment said that from January 1st to January 3rd, the hotel was fully booked and pre-booked. This year, Vung Tau has many major events organized in the Bai Sau area, which has contributed to attracting and bringing the number of tourists to increase.
Some other quality accommodation establishments in the area also said that they were fully booked during the holidays, for example at 4-star establishments such as Premier Pearl, Mercure Vung Tau... or some 3-star establishments such as Ibis Styles Vung Tau. At these establishments, pre-booked rooms are also fully booked for January 3rd.
Although most of the fully booked places are in prime locations, by the sea, in reality, there are still many small hotels and guesthouses with seafronts with empty rooms.
Mr. V.D.L (trading in guesthouses on the front of Thuy Van street) said that during this holiday, the number of guests staying at the establishment is not high, averaging only about 50-60% on holidays. Some other establishments are also in a similar situation.
Tourist Quang Son (from Hanoi, staying in Malibu Vung Tau) said that on long trips, they often prioritize choosing facilities with good quality to stay even if the price is higher.
Before that, I researched and chose a suitable place to live. During my time here, I saw that the service in Vung Tau is getting better and better quality," Mr. Son assessed.
In the first 2 days of 2026, the traffic situation on roads in Vung Tau was relatively stable and smooth. Slow movement only appeared on some key roads such as Hoang Hoa Tham, Thuy Van during peak hours.
Food and seafood service businesses in the area have planned to prepare a rich source of goods to serve tourists with stable and appropriate prices; no complaints about "overcharging" or poor quality in the locality have been recorded.
