Son Doong Cave is always a "unknown" for tourists who love adventure and exploration.
From 1990 to 2019, the BCRA ( British Cave and Research Association) cave exploration team led by Mr. Howard Limbert surveyed more than 350 caves in the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and 20 caves in neighboring areas.
However, cave diving is considered a special type of exploration, caves have different lengths, depths, different flows or different transparency levels of water, so it requires cave divers to have experience and be proficient in using specialized diving equipment.
Inviting the world's best cave divers to immerse themselves in the underground river under Son Doong cave opens up great opportunities to explore the secrets and new activities under the caves that experts have not done or have done very little of.
This is truly a wonderful masterpiece of nature, beyond the imagination with giant yapops and stone bamboo shoots hanging on the ceiling of a cave or growing from the ground, looking from afar like creatures on the planet with strange shapes.
A forest right inside the cave covered with hazy clouds will create a enchanting scene. You will also have a valuable opportunity to learn more about the billion-year-old urns on the ancient fossil corridor.
Tourists can camp in Hang Son Doong (The World's Largest Cave) and camp in Hang En (The World's Third Largest Cave).
4 days and 3 nights in the forest and cave, tourists traveled more than 25km of mountainous forest with flat terrain, exploring 9km in the cave including using ropes to climb the steep rocks (including climbing 90m up the Vietnamese Wall), climbing steep slopes about 400m high and winding streams/river banks underground in the cave. Therefore, the explorer Son Doong ensures his physical strength to suit the above activities.
The Son Doong Expedition is considered difficult, only for visitors in good health and regularly participating in outdoor sports and having trekking experience.
