The number of international visitors to Vietnam in January and February 2025 increased by more than 30% over the same period.

According to the report of the General Statistics Office, the number of international visitors to Vietnam in February 2025 will reach nearly 1.9 million, bringing the total number of international visitors in the first 2 months of the year to nearly 4 million. This figure increased by 30.2% over the same period last year.

China is considered the largest market sending visitors to Vietnam with 956,000 visitors, accounting for 27.7% of the total number of visitors in the first 2 months of the year. However, according to travel experts, the number of Chinese visitors has somewhat decreased after the Lunar New Year holiday.

Vietnam's second largest market sending visitors is Korea with 885,000 visitors. These two markets have an outstanding number of visitors, contributing 46% of the total number of visitors to Vietnam.

The markets sending first customers include Taiwan (China) with 218,000 visitors, the US with 180,000 visitors, Japan with 147,000 visitors, Cambodia with 142,000 visitors, Australia with 105,000 visitors, Malaysia with 103,000 visitors, India with 92,000 visitors. Most notably, with 79,000 visitors, the Russian tourism market has returned to the top 10 markets sending top customers to Vietnam.

In the first two months of 2025, the Polish and Swiss markets also recorded an increase in the number of visitors, up 54.2% and 14.2% respectively over the same period in 2024. This is a positive signal when the Government issued Resolution 11/NQ-CP on short-term visa exemption for Polish, Czech and Swiss citizens from March 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025, according to the 2025 Tourism Development stimulus Program.

The results of welcoming nearly 4 million international visitors in the first 2 months of 2025 show the positive development momentum of the Vietnam tourism industry after a breakthrough in 2024, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

The goal of the tourism industry to welcome 22-23 million international visitors in 2025 is predicted by many experts to be "completed" with the current high growth momentum.

In 2025, the Vietnamese tourism industry will organize introduction programs in Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, Australia, North America, India, the Middle East and Chinese-speaking markets. Notable events include Vietnam Cultural Tourism Week in Europe, Exhibition House at EXPO 2025 Osaka and participation in international tourism fairs.

As the host of the National Tourism Year 2025, Hue is expected to host 62 activities out of more than 170 national and provincial events organized in conjunction with this important event.

Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram - Director of Hue City Department of Tourism - said that in 2025, Hue tourism industry strives to attract about 4.8 - 5 million tourists, of which international visitors account for about 38-40%.

Da Nang will also continue to invest in product development; maintain the growth of the Korean and Taiwanese (China) tourist markets, increase promotion of exploitation of the Japanese, Chinese, and Southeast Asian markets; expand and exploit potential markets of India, the US, and Australia, attracting the segment of resort tourists, local cultural experiences, MICE tourists, golfers, and wedding tourism.

To achieve the goal of welcoming 30 million visitors, the Hanoi Department of Tourism has set out 6 key tasks, emphasizing the re-evaluation of the tourist market, focusing on promoting and attracting key and traditional international tourist markets such as: Northeast Asia, ASEAN, EU...
