According to the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, in the first 5 months of 2026, Ha Long Bay continued to affirm its attractiveness as one of the leading destinations for Vietnamese tourism when it welcomed 1,429,259 visitors.
In which, Vietnamese visitors reached 256,851, international visitors reached 1,172,408. Revenue from bay tour activities in the first 5 months of the year reached about 420 billion VND.
Also according to the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, the visitor structure shows that the international visitor market continues to account for a large proportion.
Ha Long Bay is still a destination chosen by many foreign tourists. The Asian tourist market mainly comes from China, India, Korea... The European tourist market is concentrated in some countries such as France, Germany...
In 2025, Ha Long Bay welcomed over 3.4 million visitors, including more than 2.2 million international visitors and nearly 1.2 million domestic visitors.
Entrance fees to Ha Long Bay in 2025 reached more than 988 billion VND, a slight increase compared to the plan assigned by Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee and gradually returning to the trillion-VND revenue level as before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, according to the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first 5 months of 2026, the whole province welcomed over 10.1 million tourists.
In which, domestic tourists reached over 7.9 million, international tourists reached over 2.2 million; the number of overnight visitors reached nearly 3 million. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at nearly 27,700 billion VND, an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2025.
With the current growth momentum and careful preparation for the summer 2026 peak tourist season, Ha Long Bay and Quang Ninh are expected to continue to welcome more quality tourists, contributing to completing tourism growth targets this year.
In 2025, Quang Ninh welcomed more than 21.28 million visitors, with revenue reaching 57,000 billion VND.
In 2026, Quang Ninh sets a target of welcoming about 22 million visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching 65,000 billion VND.
