The contest attracted 25 participating teams with 50 chefs and kitchen assistants from hotels, restaurants, and culinary training facilities in Da Nang city.
This is an event organized by the Da Nang Department of Tourism to honor the culinary profession, while promoting Da Nang culinary tourism to domestic and foreign tourists.
Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh - Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City - emphasized that cuisine plays an important role in attracting and retaining tourists. In addition to the unique features of scenic spots, indigenous culture and a colorful festival system, Michelin Guide's choice of Da Nang as an ideal destination for culinary tourism in 2025 has affirmed the value and unique appeal of Vietnamese cuisine and Da Nang cuisine globally.
Through this contest, the organizing committee hopes that the talent and creativity of the chefs combined with diverse available natural ingredients will create more delicious, unique, standard dishes to introduce to serve tourists and people. Thereby, contributing to raising the level of Vietnamese cuisine, building and developing Da Nang into a unique culinary tourism destination on the world tourism map.


The teams went through 2 rounds of competition including cooking and presentation. Within 60 minutes, the teams need to prepare two dishes including appetizers and main dishes. On a scale of 100, the judges evaluated based on the criteria of food quality, processing techniques, decoration, presentation meaning and appropriate costumes.
Mr. Doan Van Tuan - Judge of the World chefs Association, Head of the Jury - said: "The quality of candidates taking the exam this year is quite even, clearly demonstrated in professional techniques and nutritional knowledge. The contestants brought creative dishes to the contest while still preserving traditional flavors. The judges have worked very carefully and fairly to choose dishes that are worthy of the award.
