On January 4, the An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism said that in the 4 days of New Year holiday, An Giang is estimated to welcome more than 348,000 visitors, an increase of 52.5% compared to the same period; of which international tourists were more than 30,000, an increase of 48.6% compared to the same period; domestic tourists were more than 318,000, an increase of 52.8% compared to the same period.
The number of guests staying reached nearly 87,000, an increase of 99% compared to the same period. The average room occupancy rate reached more than 61%, an increase of 92.7% compared to the same period. Total revenue from tourism reached 859 billion VND, an increase of 71.2% compared to the same period.
Phu Quoc Special Zone alone is estimated to welcome more than 175,000 visitors, an increase of 156.1% compared to the same period; of which international visitors are more than 29,800, an increase of 49.7% compared to the same period.
According to Director of An Giang Department of Tourism Bui Quoc Thai, during this occasion, localities, tourist areas/sites and tourism service business units in the province have proactively organized many rich and diverse activities to serve the needs of tourists for sightseeing, entertainment, and recreation. Tourism products and services continue to be consolidated and renewed, focusing on improving the quality and experience for tourists.

In localities and tourist areas/sites, many cultural and artistic activities, sports events, folk games, and folk cake festivals are organized, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere in the first days of the new year.
Some typical tourist destinations implement Tet service programs such as: Tuc Dup Hill Tourist Area (O Lam commune), Tra Su melaleuca forest Tourist Area (An Cu commune), Con En Tourist Area (Cu Lao Gieng commune)... with local characteristic eco-tourism and cultural activities.
In addition, many tourism service businesses have implemented discount programs, promotions, built new products and services, and organized entertainment activities to attract tourists during the New Year holiday.
In Phu Quoc Special Zone alone, many large-scale activities and events are organized to serve tourists such as the special edition ONCE Show welcoming the new year at VinWonders, the 2025 Countdown "The Rise of Lights" at Grand World Phu Quoc, the entertainment program "Paradise" combined with brilliant fireworks performances, Beach Music Week and Fireworks at Hoang Hon Town (from December 25, 2025 to January 4, 2026) and Spectacle Countdown 2026 Night with the longest art fireworks display of the year, bringing a vibrant and attractive festival atmosphere to tourists.
During the New Year holiday of 2026, the inspection and supervision of tourism activities and ensuring security and safety for tourists are seriously implemented by localities, tourist areas/sites and tourism service business units. Key tourist areas have proactively organized inspections and reminded tourism business establishments to strictly comply with the provisions of law on tourism service business activities, fire prevention and fighting, environmental protection, food safety and hygiene, and traffic safety.
The Director of the Department of Tourism assessed that, in general, throughout the New Year holiday of 2026, tourism activities in the province took place safely and stably, creating peace of mind and satisfaction for tourists when visiting and relaxing. Units organized serious on-duty duty, promptly handling arising situations; ensuring service quality, no price increases, price gouging, customer soliciting, contributing to preserving the image of local tourism.
