Lang Son - During the New Year holiday, the border province welcomed nearly 19,000 tourists.

During the 4-day New Year holiday (from January 1 to January 4, 2026), Lang Son tourism recorded signs of recovery when the total number of visitors was estimated at about 19,000, an increase of 8% compared to the same period in 2025, information provided by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province.

According to statistics, international visitors reached about 2,700, while domestic visitors reached 16,300. The flow of visitors increased steadily in many segments, from spiritual tourism, community tourism to cultural and festival experiences at the beginning of the year.

Many typical destinations of the province attracting many tourists during this occasion such as Quynh Son Community Tourist Village, Huu Lien Community Tourist Village.

In addition, familiar spiritual tourist destinations such as Mau Dong Dang Temple, Bac Le Temple, and Tam Thanh Pagoda continue to be the choice of a large number of tourists inside and outside the province.

Not only relying on the advantage of the destination, during this year's New Year holiday, many vibrant cultural, sports, and tourism activities also take place in the province, contributing to stimulating tourism demand.

The highlight is the New Year's Eve Countdown art program combined with fireworks displays, creating a bustling atmosphere, attracting people and tourists to participate and experience the New Year's transition moment in Xu Lang.

Along with that, communes and wards in the province have proactively organized many New Year's activities, community art programs and experiential tourism products associated with local culture.

Mr. Luu Ba Mac, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the tourism results for the 2026 New Year holiday are a positive sign for the first tourism season of the year, creating favorable momentum for Lang Son to implement events, festivals and tourism products in the coming time, towards the goal of sustainable growth and improving service quality.
