According to the latest information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on December 22, the center of the tropical depression was determined to be located at about 6.0 degrees North latitude; 115.0 degrees East longitude, located in the southern sea area of ​​the South China Sea.

The strongest wind speed near the center of the low pressure reaches level 6 (equivalent to 39-49 km/h), with gusts of level 8.

This tropical depression is currently moving northeast at a speed of about 10 km/h.

In the next 24 to 48 hours, the Center for Tropical Depression Forecasting predicts that the tropical depression will continue to move northeast and then northwest at a speed of about 10 km/h.

Specifically, at 7:00 a.m. on December 23, the center of the tropical depression will be at about 8.3 degrees North latitude and 114.0 degrees East longitude, in the area south of Truong Sa archipelago, with intensity from level 6 to level 7 and can gust up to level 9.

The danger zone will stretch from 5.0 degrees North latitude to 10.0 degrees North latitude and from 112.5 degrees East longitude to 117.0 degrees East longitude, and the disaster risk level is determined at level 3 for the southern area of ​​the South China Sea and the southern area of ​​Truong Sa archipelago.

By 7:00 a.m. on December 24, the tropical depression will move northwest at a speed of 10 to 15 km/h, at about 9.8 degrees North latitude; 111.5 degrees East longitude, in the area west of Truong Sa archipelago.

The intensity is now level 7, with gusts of level 9. The disaster risk level is determined at level 3 for the Truong Sa archipelago area.

The warning for the next 48 to 72 hours shows that the tropical depression will continue to move in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of 10 to 15 km/h.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression, the southern sea area of ​​the South East Sea will have strong winds of level 6 and gusts of level 8, waves from 3 to 5 meters high; rough seas.

From the night of December 22, the sea area south of Truong Sa archipelago will witness strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 8-9 and waves from 4.0 to 6.0 meters high; rough seas.

All vessels operating in the above mentioned danger zones should take precautions against extreme weather events such as storms, whirlwinds and large waves.
