Lam Dong - Tourism security is being focused on in order to build an image of a safe, friendly and sustainable destination.

On June 30, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province said that it had received information from the Provincial Police on a number of issues related to tourism security in the area and implemented many solutions to ensure a safe and healthy tourism environment.

According to Lam Dong Provincial Police, recently, the situation of foreigners operating as tour guides has reappeared in some tourist areas and attractions, especially in public areas or places where there are no tourist investors managing.

In addition, after online fraud crackdowns, some groups of foreigners tend to disperse forces, shift areas to Vietnam to rent accommodation in the area to carry out fraud and online betting activities, potentially affecting security and order and the tourism image of the locality.

According to Ms. Nguyen Lan Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, communes, wards and special zones need to direct functional forces to strengthen patrols and regular inspections at tourist areas and spots to promptly detect and handle violations.

In particular, localities need to inspect and prevent the use of foreigners to guide tourists against regulations and strictly handle cases of taking advantage of accommodation establishments to organize fraud and online gambling activities.

For accommodation businesses, functional sectors require to raise vigilance and fully implement regulations on registration and declaration of accommodation, especially for foreign guests.

Accommodation establishments need to strengthen the management of long-term room renters, who rarely go out or use many electronic devices, computers, and phones showing signs of serving illegal activities.

For travel businesses, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires the use of a team of tour guides that fully meet the conditions for practicing according to the provisions of law, and absolutely do not use foreigners as tour guides against regulations in tourist areas and attractions in the province.

Strengthening tourism security not only aims to prevent and combat illegal acts but also contributes to building a safe and friendly destination image. This is an important factor for tourists to feel secure in experiencing, while creating a foundation for Lam Dong tourism industry to develop sustainably in the coming time.
