The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presides over and organizes inspections of tourist accommodation establishments in Cat Hai (including hotels, guesthouses, rooms for tourists to rent and waterway accommodation). The inspection aims to ensure that establishments fully meet standards of security, order and fire prevention; comply with regulations on environmental sanitation, food safety; meet standards on facilities, equipment, and gradually improve amenities, service quality and tourist satisfaction.

In the first 3 months of 2026, the number of tourists to Cat Ba is estimated at 552,175, equal to 112.4% compared to the same period in 2025. According to the report, the Ferry Line Exploitation Joint Venture (Hai Phong Waterway Traffic Assurance Joint Stock Company and Cat Ba Bay View Co., Ltd.) has put into operation a total of 7 ferries (including 5 large ferries and 2 small ferries), performing 4,668 trips.
Transport volume reached 62,182 car trips, 52,305 motorbike trips, 4,668 bicycle trips and 234,340 passenger trips, an increase of about 30% compared to the same period in 2025... Passenger transport activities through the Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry route were organized safely and smoothly, without traffic congestion at both ends of the station.
