On September 4, the War Relics Museum held a meeting to review "50-year journey: For love is peace" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its establishment (September 4, 1975 - September 4, 2025).
According to Mr. Lam Ngo Hoang Anh - Deputy Executive Director of the War Document Museum, over the past half century, the War Document Museum has affirmed its position as a leading cultural institution in the country.
The museum welcomes tens of millions of visitors, surpassing the 25 million mark in 2025. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of visitors recovered strongly, some days exceeding 10,000, mainly international visitors.
The foundation that creates this attraction is the treasure trove of precious memories including more than 20,000 documents, artifacts and films, many of which are presented by veterans, journalists and international friends.
On the basis of 50 years of establishment and development, the War Document Museum is entering a new phase with the vision of becoming a Museum for Peace.
To realize this vision, the museum focuses on promoting international cooperation to bring the story of reconciliation to new heights and proactively transforming digitally to bring heritage closer to the global public.
On this occasion, the War Document Museum also opened a special exhibition "Southern cuisine during the resistance war".
Many images and exhibits have shown a humane perspective on the silent struggle for survival, where silver meals have become a great source of spiritual strength, nurturing the will of our army and people.
After the great victory in the Spring of 1975, "The American - Korean Crime Exhibition House" was born on September 4, 1975 . In 1990, the name was changed to "Invasion War Crimes Exhibition House". However, the comprehensive transformation took place on July 4, 1995, when the name "War Document Museum" was officially established.
The museum has achieved many outstanding achievements, recognized internationally through prestigious awards such as Top 25 most attractive museums in Asia and Top 10 most beautiful museums in the world. In 2023, the Museum was honored to be classified as a Grade I Museum in the Vietnam National Museum System.
