At this festival, the Organizing Committee has arranged many spaces and areas with strong Western flavors, such as: Cho Lach district's artistic cockfighting cultural space; District's ornamental plant cultural space; Southern amateur music cultural space... In addition, there are more than 10 other rich and diverse activities.
Cho Lach Flower and Ornamental Festival is held from January 8, 2025 to January 12, 2025. This is the first Flower and Ornamental Festival held in the district to honor and promote the economic value of local flower and ornamental products, promote the development of garden economy, flower and ornamental growing profession associated with the Cultural - Tourism Village and the National One Commune One Product Program - OCOP.
Sharing with Lao Dong, Mr. Pham Anh Linh, Chairman of Cho Lach District People's Committee, hopes: "Cho Lach is known not only as the largest plant variety producer in the country but also as the kingdom of flowers and ornamental plants. Thereby, attracting more attention and investment from businesses, organizations and tourists, contributing to promoting the sustainable socio-economic development of the district".
Attending and giving a speech at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee expressed her excitement about the first event of 2025 welcoming "Ben Tre Province Traditional Day".
According to the Vice Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee, in the warm and joyful atmosphere of the Opening Ceremony, she respectfully expressed her gratitude to the artisans and farmers of Cho Lach who are diligent, creative, persistent, and dedicated in creating the "Kingdom of seedlings and ornamental flowers".
“We request the Department of Culture - Sports - Tourism, the Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Finance and relevant departments and branches, together with the People's Committee of Cho Lach district, to continue to proactively and closely coordinate to accelerate the successful implementation of the Project on Cultural Tourism Village and Plant Seed Center,” the Vice Chairman of the Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Record Organization recognized the "Longest community-created ornamental flower route in Vietnam". This route stretches nearly 15km, passing through district roads 34, 35 and 37 of Cho Lach Cultural Tourism Village. The route is decorated with many typical plants such as flamboyant, cypress, bougainvillea, chrysanthemum... arranged by hundreds of local households to display and serve the need to buy ornamental flowers on the occasion of Tet At Ty 2025.
Cho Lach District is located on Minh Islet, more than 40 km from Ben Tre City center. With a dense system of canals and a temperate climate, Cho Lach District is one of the largest producers of seedlings and ornamental flowers in the Mekong Delta.
In the district, there are more than 6,000 households specializing in growing flowers and ornamental plants. Of these, there are 2,500 members of the Ornamental Plants Association with about 700 provincial-level artisans and 7 national-level artisans.
