On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations and socio-political organizations will have 9 consecutive days off.
Specifically, the Lunar New Year holiday is from Saturday, January 25 (December 26, year of the Dragon) to Sunday, February 2 (January 5, year of the Snake).
This holiday includes 5 official Tet holidays and 4 weekly days off as prescribed in the Labor Code.
For businesses not listed above, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs requires employers to choose one of three Tet holiday options. One is to take the last day of the year of Giap Thin and the first 4 days of the year of At Ty. Two is to take the last 2 days of the year of Giap Thin and the first 3 days of the year of At Ty. Three is to take the last 3 days of the year of Giap Thin and the first 2 days of the year of At Ty.
While the New Year holiday is only 1 day, the Lunar New Year holiday lasts 9 days, creating convenience, helping people have more time with their families, stimulating tourism and shopping.
