The information was officially announced at a press conference to inform about the plan to arrange ticket sales and inspection points at Nui Sam National Tourist Area organized by Nui Sam National Tourist Area Management Board (Management Board) on the morning of October 22, in Vinh Te commune.
Informing at the press conference, Mr. Truong Huu Tien - Director of the Management Board - said that the fee collection of Nui Sam Tourist Area was carried out before 2013 by the People's Committee of Nui Sam Ward during the peak months of the Nui Sam Ba Chua Xu Festival (January to April, lunar calendar) at 2 fee collection points No. 1 and No. 2.
In 2014, the Management Board of Nui Sam Cultural, Historical and Tourism Relic Site (under Chau Doc City, now the Management Board of Nui Sam National Tourist Area) took on the task of collecting entrance fees from the People's Committee of Nui Sam Ward and arranged fees at 2 locations.
In 2015, point 2 was relocated to National Highway 91 in Vinh Te commune. In 2016, the second point was moved to the Sam Mountain roundabout (now Pham Van Bach) and has existed until now.
However, due to many reasons, such as: the toll collection work is completely manual, the location of the points is not suitable and has not received high consensus from society. On the other hand, due to the characteristics of Nui Sam National Tourist Area interspersed with residential areas, the organization of fee collection for sightseeing faces many difficulties.
In April 2025, the People's Committee of An Giang province issued an official dispatch to remove the warning sign and traffic regulation point at the intersection of Tan Lo Kieu Luong and Le Dai Cuong streets. Immediately after that, vehicles will choose Tan Lo Kieu Luong route to enter the National Tourist Area to avoid toll points. This leads to reduced fee collection, making it difficult to cover the unit's operating expenses when the Provincial People's Committee assigned autonomy from November 2024.
After that, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Management Board of Nui Sam National Tourist Area to coordinate with relevant agencies and localities to conduct surveys, research and develop a plan to arrange ticket sales and inspection points to visit cultural and historical relics in Nui Sam National Tourist Area to ensure scientific, correct and sufficient collection, minimizing the impact on people and businesses.
After a period of coordination and approval by the People's Committee of An Giang province, the Management Board of Nui Sam National Tourist Area organized a pilot implementation of a plan to arrange ticket sales and inspection points to visit cultural and historical relics in the tourist area, and is expected to implement new fee collection in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Accordingly, stopping vehicles to buy entrance tickets at the current 3 locations to ensure safety for forces on duty and facilitate smooth traffic.
The Nui Sam National Tourist Area Management Board organizes ticket sales and checking points at 3 locations. Regarding ticket checks, the score is 1, at the beginning of the walking street in front of Tay An pagoda; score 2, at the end of the walking street in front of Vinh Te communal house; score 3, at the entrance to the back gate of Ba Temple on Chau Thi Te street (from the gate 30 meters towards Ba Temple).
3 ticket sales points, including: point 1, at the visitor transfer point of the Management Board of Sam Mountain National Tourist Area - Vinh Dong Commercial Center; point 2, at the old sculpture area of Tan Lo Kieu Luong Street near the water supply station; point 3, at the end of the walking street in front of Vinh Te communal house.
In addition, during peak times (in January and 2nd lunar months every year), arrange 2-3 more ticket sales points on Tan Lo Kieu Luong and Le Dai Cuong streets (in front of Vinh Dong Market Trade Center) to reduce pressure on ticket sales points No. 2, making it most convenient for tourists to buy tickets.
The Sam Mountain National Tourism Area was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national tourist area in 2018, including a complex of 5 national-level relics: Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam Temple - architectural and artistic relic, Thoai Ngoc Hau Mausoleum - architectural and artistic relic, Tay An Pagoda - architectural and artistic relic, Hang Pagoda - historical and cultural relic and Chau Phu Communal House - architectural and artistic relic.
