Hanoi - At the end of June, people in the capital and tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy a special art program with musical instruments made from ceramics.

Inspired by pottery culture, the creative music art project "GOm Show - Voice from the pottery" performed by artist group Dan Do is a sound journey that turns a pottery rotation into a narrator and each familiar object in life such as the putter, the press, the flute, the bell... into musical instruments with a voice, with clear sound.

The story of the earth and people will be told in a language that is speechless in a colorful space of sound and culture. listeners will enter a world rich in feelings - where each layer of sound awakens their imagination, evokes cultural memories, and leads listeners through "morning - evening - afternoon".

Mr. Do Tuan Anh, representative of the organizing committee, shared: For us, indigenous music is also a form of cultural behavior, showing respect for nature, people and the spiritual life of each land. Every sound, every material preserved and used carries empathy with the community that produced it.

We all have the desire to bring our country's indigenous music to the world so that those rustic, profound melodies can float out like a true and unique voice of Vietnam on the global map".

The program uses special musical instruments researched and manufactured by the author's team such as: Phong Nghiep (using a putter and a car to create a super-low sound like a giant bass); Phong lang (a thick cake shape, a warm sound like a sound from the ground); Phong Nghiep and Phong Sanh (creating a sound from a unique musical structure, each with a separate sound system); rotated pottery ( rotated by hand on a ceramic mouth, creating a soft resounding effect); Riding flute (the gentle sound issued from the ground)...

Artist Dinh Anh Tuan - representative of the Dan Do group, confided: "We want to exploit the sounds in the simplest things. I hope the audience will be moved by the sound that ceramics bring. When working on ceramics, I see the culture of ceramics, not only in Vietnam, it is truly wonderful.

There, people know how to behave with nature, know how to exploit soil, water, fire, be close to indigenous culture... Ceramic culture has spans thousands of years, but we did not mention any specific time in the program".

After more than 12 years of creating and performing works of art with strong local identity and contemporary spirit, all of the group's projects are aimed at the philosophy of "taking culture as the root, taking people as the energy", originating from Vietnamese materials and spirit. The sections in the performance are the official voices of indigenous ethnic communities such as M'Nong, Tay, Lo Lo, Nung Din, E De, Ha Nhi...

The program has the participation of young artists such as Duong Thi Men, Le Duy, Nguyen Tra Huong, Nguyen Tra Giang, Dam Van Huy... GOm Show will take place at 7:30 p.m. on June 28 - 29 at the Hanoi Opera House.
