The 2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival officially opened on the evening of September 20. This is one of the biggest tourism promotion events of Hanoi, and is also a program responding to the activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).
Speaking at the opening ceremony on the evening of September 20, Mr. Nguyen Anh Duong - Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Hanoi City, affirmed that the program "2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024" is an event to affirm the Hanoi tourism brand, promote the effective exploitation of the potential and strengths of each locality in the city, creating momentum for socio-economic development.
At the opening ceremony, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi received a total of more than 213 million VND from units and organizations participating in the festival to support people affected by storms and floods.
The 2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival in 2024 has many spaces recreating the image of Hanoi in romantic autumn days, the moment Hanoi was filled with flags and flowers welcoming the victorious army back on the day of the liberation of the capital 70 years ago.
Visitors can admire the characteristics of old Hanoi through models of "Hanoi Flag Tower", "Hang Co Station - Historical Train", "Quan Chuong Gate", "Garden of Light" arranged and staged into exhibition spaces and miniature landscapes introducing attractive tourist destinations in autumn such as Long Bien Bridge, Hanoi Old Quarter...
Besides, there is a space to introduce Hanoi cuisine in the Hanoi Children's Palace area (35-38 Ly Thai To street) with traditional dishes such as Uoc Le ham, Vong village green rice, Hang Than green rice cake, Tay Ho lotus tea, old quarter coffee...
The program combines culinary quintessence promotion activities to demonstrate outstanding cultural features, typical of Hanoi cuisine, converging the quintessence and being very diverse and creative under the talent of Vietnamese chefs...
The festival showcases the skills of artisans and skilled workers and an exhibition introducing typical craft products of Hanoi is held in the Octagonal House area. Here, typical values of Hanoi craft villages are displayed such as: Giang Cao ceramics, Ha Thai lacquerware, Ngu Xa bronze casting; Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan weaving; Ngu Xa bronze casting; Chau Khe jewelry; Kieu Ky gold leaf; Quoc Oai wood carving; Van Phuc silk, Ha Dong.
The 2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024 will last for 4 days from September 19, 2024 to September 22, 2024. The program will be held in the walking street of Hoan Kiem Lake and some tourist destinations in Hanoi.
The program has the participation and support of many units such as: Hanoi Tourism Association, Hoan Kiem Tourism Association, Capital Tourism Club; Hanoi Unesco Travel Club. 12 provinces and cities participating in introducing local tourism include: Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Son La, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Hue...
