Hanoi is preparing to welcome the Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024, a special event to honor the cultural, historical and tourism values of the capital. With the theme "Hanoi Autumn - a historic autumn", the festival promises to bring unique experiences, promoting the beauty of Hanoi's famous landscapes, relics and cultural heritages.
The event, which takes place on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, will be an opportunity for people and tourists to explore the cultural quintessence and traditional craft villages typical of Hanoi. The festival will last for four days, from September 12 to September 15, 2024, with exciting activities at the Ba Kieu Temple flower garden, Dinh Tien Hoang street, Ly Thai To flower garden and many other locations in Hoan Kiem district and neighboring areas.
The official opening ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m. on September 13, 2024, at the Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden stage. Immediately afterwards, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., a special art program with the theme "Hanoi Autumn - Historical Autumn" will captivate people with performances imbued with traditional culture.
The festival will be held on a grand scale, including about 150 booths along Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Le Thach Street and the Octagonal House area. The exhibition spaces will recreate the image of Hanoi during the historic days, when the whole city was filled with flags and flowers welcoming the victorious army back. In addition, spaces introducing Hanoi's unique cuisine, such as "Hanoi 12 Flower Seasons", "The Fragrance of Hanoi", and handicrafts from traditional craft villages will also be elaborately presented.
In addition, the Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024 will also feature many other exciting activities, such as parades, lion and dragon dance performances, mid-autumn lantern parades, kite performances and dry puppetry. Culinary programs introducing famous Hanoi delicacies will also contribute to enriching visitors' experiences, from the art of making West Lake lotus tea, Hang Than green rice cakes, Hang Duong dried apricots to traditional dishes such as Phu Thuong sticky rice, Phung spring rolls, and Phu Nhi rice cakes.
Other cultural activities include Ao Dai performances, sports dances, parades and children's painting exhibitions. In particular, a photo exhibition with the theme "Hanoi Autumn - Historical Autumn" will bring viewers unique documentary images and reports about Hanoi through each period, displayed at the Ly Thai To monument area.
