In order to ensure security and order, and build a safe, civilized and friendly tourism environment, the People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued Official Letter No. 520/UBND-SVHTTDL, requesting departments, branches, sectors, and localities to strengthen tourism management, strictly handle street vendors, beggars, and solicitation of tourists.
According to the content of the document, the People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones are responsible for directing the inspection of compliance with regulations on security, order, traffic safety and tourism environment at tourism service establishments, restaurants and tourist attractions. At the same time, organize inspections, guide to improve service quality and strictly handle violations of the law.
The city requires tightening the situation of vagrants begging for food and selling street food, especially at places of worship, markets, tourist attractions and crowded food streets. Those who take advantage of children, the elderly, and people with disabilities to beg, sell street food, or follow tourists in prohibited areas will also be handled.
Propaganda work through the media system, local websites and media will be promoted.

Along with that, the People's Committees of localities must direct market management boards to coordinate with functional forces to inspect, propagate, and handle the situation of soliciting customers in market areas.
Chairmen of People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones must be responsible to the City People's Committee for ensuring urban order, especially handling acts that affect the tourism environment.
The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with member units of the Steering Committee 389, Border Guard, Market Management forces, and Food Safety Management Board in inspecting and supervising the quality of services, goods, and food serving tourists. At the same time, coordinate with local newspapers and radio stations to increase propaganda and monitor the implementation situation.
The City People's Committee also requested agencies and units to continue to strictly implement the tasks in previous documents on security and order, handling street vendors, beggars and perverted eaters; plans for peak handling of begging, and directives on environmental tourism management.
Notably, the City People's Committee also requested the Association of People with Disabilities and the Association of the Blind to propagate and encourage members not to gather in large crowds or take advantage of their disability to solicit, beg customers to buy goods combined with begging for food - an act that affects the civilized image of the city.
The city assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to study and advise on the issuance of a document replacing Directive 07/CT-UBND of Quang Nam (old) to have a basis for tourism environmental management in accordance with the new situation in Da Nang.
