On July 14, a resident sent a report to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City about the situation of some street vendors on My Khe beach.
The reflection clearly stated: "While the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and tourist beaches have eliminated street vendors on the beach, not allowing them to sell anything, why is there still this person willing to sell blood sugar in the area going down to the beach of My Khe beach, specifically the Vo Van Kiet street running straight to My Khe beach under the steps opposite Lang Ba".
According to the reflection, at around 3:00 p.m. every day, this street vendor sells underwear in the above area, causing outrage among people when they think that this activity is not in accordance with regulations, affecting the landscape and order of the beach area - which has already been tightly managed.
In response to this reflection, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City has issued a response document. Accordingly, the Department said: In the past time, in order to diversify types of services to serve the needs of people and tourists when coming to visit and entertain at tourist beaches, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches (under the Department) has organized a pilot arrangement of some types of businesses in the beach area.
Among them, there is a banh mi selling point at the entrance to the beach near Lang Ong (My Khe) - exactly as people reported. This is part of the plan to pilot tourist service, which is arranged with control.
However, to ensure service quality and preserve the landscape of the tourism environment, in the coming time, the Management Board will conduct an inspection and re-evaluation of all business activities being implemented in the beach area.
