On November 13, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kanagawa province will host the Kanagawa festival which will take place in Da Nang. The event was attended by a delegation of Kanagawa province led by Governor Yuji Kuroiwa, representatives of the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang and many Japanese businesses and educational institutions.

The festival is held for the 4th consecutive time in Da Nang, affirming the friendship and promoting the close cooperative relationship between the two localities, while enhancing mutual understanding within the framework of Vietnam - Japan relations.
The event aims to promote the culture and tourism of Kanagawa province and provide information on education, employment, study abroad to students and training institutions of Da Nang.
To date, Da Nang has established friendly relations with more than 22 provinces and cities of Japan, including 6 cities that have signed official cooperation agreements: Kawasaki, Sakai, Yokohama, Kisarazu, Nagasaki and Kinokawa. Yokohama and Kawasaki in Kanagawa Prefecture have had extensive cooperative relationships with Da Nang over the years, with programs for exchanging experts, staff, sustainable urban development, cultural exchanges and seaport cooperation.
The program took place with the final round of the Japanese speaking contest, introducing Kanagawa Prefecture, award ceremony, Yosakoi performance, online exchange with Vietnamese students at Kanagawa, introducing Japanese businesses and sharing study abroad experiences.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee said that Da Nang always considers education - training as one of the important strategies for sustainable development. The city has closely cooperated with many Japanese localities, organizations and partners to implement student exchange programs, lecturers, academics, high-quality human resource training, cooperation in the fields of engineering, information technology, tourism, healthcare and Japanese.
"Personally, I am very impressed with the socio-economic development, especially in the fields of mechanical industry, health care, and quality education and training programs of Kanagawa province.
We hope that in the coming time, the Governor, the Kanagawa Provincial Government and the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang will continue to pay attention to and provide many scholarship programs and training courses for cadres, experts, students and pupils of Da Nang city and the Central region," said Ms. Thi.

Ms. Thi also suggested that Da Nang City and the Kanagawa Provincial Government work together to research and make the event an annual activity, not only in education but also towards expanding scale, rich in forms and diversity of activities.
Da Nang City is ready to coordinate with Kanagawa province to successfully organize cultural diplomacy and economic diplomacy events in the coming time.
