Dien Bien Department of Construction said that the province is planning to build a ban flower street and a ban flower park in Dien Bien Phu and Muong Thanh wards.
Accordingly, Dien Bien Phu ward is the political, economic and cultural center of Dien Bien province, and also a prominent historical tourist destination of the Northwest region. However, currently, the planting of ban flowers in the ward is still scattered and has not been planned into typical landscape routes to serve tourism development.

Therefore, the construction of 2 roads: "The Longest Ban Flower Road in Vietnam" and "Central Ban Flower Avenue" aims to create urban landscape highlights, promote urban image, and create a lively cultural and festival space to attract tourists.
Dien Bien Department of Construction said that departments, branches, and People's Committees of Dien Bien Phu and Muong Thanh wards have agreed and highly agreed on the need to accelerate the implementation of 2 prominent Ban Flower streets to promptly serve the 2027 Ban Flower Festival (March 2027).
It is expected that the total number of ban flowers planted newly and replaced (for non-standard trees) on these two roads is 879 trees, from socialized mobilized funds.

Specifically, the "Longest Ban Flower Road in Vietnam" stretches about 5.83 km. The scope starts from Hoang Anh - Nguyen Huu Tho - Pham Van Dong streets (section from Huu Canal to the intersection between Pham Van Dong and Vo Nguyen Giap streets), Hoang Van Thai street - stadium red light.
This is a gateway connecting route (direction from National Highway 12) connecting many historical sites and entering the urban center (passing through Dien Bien airport, Nam Rom riverbank, Muong Thanh bridge, A1 hill, A1 cemetery...).
This route will renovate and upgrade infrastructure, plant ban flowers synchronously on both sides of the road.

The "Central Ban Flower Avenue" route is about 1.38 km long. Scope from Vo Nguyen Giap street, the section from the intersection of Tran Dang Ninh street (at the foot of the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument) to the end of the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum.
This is the central avenue, an area for organizing many major cultural and festival activities of the province. This route will renovate and upgrade infrastructure, plant synchronous ban trees on both sides of the sidewalks combined with landscape lighting. Planning and landscape design, organizing pedestrian and community living spaces.

For many years, ban flowers have become a symbol of the Northwest mountains and forests, a symbol of purity, loyalty and the aspiration to rise up of Dien Bien people.
Each flower blooming season is also when Dien Bien opens its arms, welcoming friends from all directions to the heroic and culturally rich historical land.

First held in 2014, the Ban Flower Festival has undergone an impressive development journey, from a local cultural event to a typical tourism product, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
In particular, choosing to organize from March 13 every year, coinciding with the opening day of the historic Dien Bien Phu Campaign, further increases the special meaning of the festival.
