Parade to promote national intangible cultural heritage in Dinh Co festival

Ho Chi Minh City - Long Hai Commune People's Committee has organized a parade to promote the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Dinh Co Festival on the main roads in the locality.

On March 29th (February 11th of the lunar calendar), the parade activities in the Dinh Co festival program (Long Hai commune, Ho Chi Minh City) took place in a bustling atmosphere, spreading the unique cultural beauty of the locality to a large number of people and tourists.

The march with about 20 local vehicles carrying hundreds of people departed from Dinh Co Cultural - Historical Relic Area, moving through the Mo Co area and main roads in Long Hai commune. During the journey, the radio system continuously introduced the history of the relic, the meaning of the cultural festival imbued with the identity of the coastal region along with the vibrant drumbeats, attracting the attention of people in the area.

Dinh Co Festival in Long Hai commune is one of the largest festivals of fishermen in the Southern coastal region with the meaning of praying for national peace and prosperity and praying for fishermen to have a favorable sea season, and was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2023. Every year, the festival attracts tens of thousands of people and tourists to visit and worship.

According to the Organizing Committee, through the parade activities and ceremonial and festival parts in the program, Dinh Co Festival 2026 sends a message about a civilized, safe, friendly and hospitable festival. This is not only a folk religious activity but also an opportunity to promote the local image, contributing to promoting sustainable tourism development.

Previously, many traditional activities imbued with folk identity such as: con throwing, stilt walking performances... were organized in the festival area, attracting a large number of people to participate. According to the plan, in the afternoon of March 29, there will continue to be a series of exciting and attractive activities such as: artistic water motorbike performances, artistic kite performances; Lion - Monk - Dragon performances at Dinh Co cultural and historical relic area.
