Advantages of the southernmost province
Speaking at the workshop with the theme "Ca Mau in the Southernmost Land of the Fatherland where nature converges and peace", Dr. Duong Duc Minh, Institute for Economic and Tourism Development Research, said that Ca Mau possesses resources in a position of sustenance, when the entire mangrove ecosystem, vast seas and gentle river life create a space for natural energy regeneration. This is not just a land to visit, but a therapeutic environment, where people find purification and reconnection with themselves.
Dr. Minh emphasized: The echo of the sea, the green of mangrove forests, and the slow pace of life have turned Ca Mau into a strategic destination for wellness tourism products. In this aspect, Ca Mau affirms its position not only at the national level but also enough to reach the international market, where the demand for "sustainable tourism" is increasing.
The opinions at the workshop all agreed that developing Ca Mau tourism products in a new space associated with the forest - sea ecosystem and indigenous culture not only effectively exploits the strengths of the locality, but also contributes to nature conservation, cultural preservation, and improving community life. This will be an important direction for Ca Mau to become a unique and attractive destination on the Vietnam tourism map.
Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said that Ca Mau hoi meets all the conditions to become a typical green destination for Vietnam tourism. To achieve this, Ca Mau needs to connect with tourist destinations nationwide, increase promotion, and create favorable conditions for businesses to invest in the tourism sector.
A great opportunity for Ca Mau to develop tourism
Speaking at the workshop, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai said that the merger of the two provinces of Bac Lieu - Ca Mau into the new Ca Mau province has opened up a large space for economic development, including tourism development, especially eco-tourism, cultural tourism, spiritual tourism and many other potential tourism types are gradually being shaped and developed.

With the advantage of a diverse and rich ecosystem with more than 100,000 hectares of cajuput forests and coastal mangrove forests recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve, associated with the diversity of typical tourism products: Mui Ca Mau National Tourist Area and U Minh Ha National Park, the symbol of Mui Ban, Landmark No. 0 and Hanoi Flag Tower... especially with the diversity of tourism resources, including many quite unique resources, Ca Mau has a basis to develop tourism products that do not overlap with tourism products of many other localities in the region.
Ca Mau is also known as the land of culture, one of the great cradles of Southern Poetry Art, an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO; the birthplace of the immortal Da Co Hoai Lang associated with the name of the late musician Cao Van Lau and the homeland of the ancient soul - the song "King" of Cai Luong stage art today.
In addition, Ca Mau also has many tourist - spiritual cultural areas, typically the Phat Dai Altar, with the ancient statue of Quan The Am Bo Tat, which has long been a place of worship for Buddhists and people to pray for peace and protection; there is Tac Say Church, a pilgrimage address for not only Catholics but also a destination that attracts a large number of tourists from near and far. In addition, Ca Mau also has many traditional festivals, folk festivals associated with the cultural characteristics of the Kinh - Hoa - Khmer ethnic group and other spiritual and cultural values - all converging to create a unique identity that is rarely found anywhere else.
Ca Mau also has the Cong Tu Bac Lieu Tourist Area, associated with many legends about the talented, mineral young master in the South; there are many special national and national relics: Cai Chanh Dam, Vinh Hung Ancient Tower, Uncle Ho Temple, Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea historical site - Vam Lung Wharf... also create potential and advantages for tourism development.
The Secretary of Ca Mau said that Ca Mau not only has the past, but in the present and in the future, Ca Mau will certainly strive to develop with key national projects invested by the Central Government in the province such as: Hon Khoai Port Cluster, Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway, Ca Mau - Dat Mui connecting to the bridge leading to Hon Khoai Port; Ca Mau Airport upgrade project... with other key projects of the province that have been and are being implemented, will create new growth momentum for the province, contributing to socio-economic development, including tourism development in the future.
All of the above factors have been blending and converging, creating very positive signals, and at the same time, it is also the foundation for Ca Mau to position the tourism brand in the southernmost destination of the Fatherland, in the direction of peace and harmony with nature.
