Historical site The location of Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La victory, Tran Phan commune, Dam Doi district, Ca Mau province (now Tran Phan commune, Ca Mau province) was decided by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to be ranked as a National Historical Site on August 18, 2016.

In 2024, the old province of Ca Mau will implement a project to restore and expand the relic. The project of more than 29,500 m2 was started by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province in November 2024, in Tran Phan commune, Dam Doi district (old), about 30 km from Ca Mau province, including the square, monument cluster (16.45 m wide, 15.3 m high), traditional house, martyrs' stele, souvenir stall...

The historical relic site of the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La Victory has an investment of 106 billion VND from the State budget and other legal mobilization sources.

The project includes main items: memorial stele house, exhibition area, event hall, administrative area - welcoming guests, green tree system, grass, internal road and lighting system, parking lot, along with auxiliary works serving visitors such as toilets, rest stools and refreshment areas.

The entire project is designed in traditional architecture combined with modernity, in harmony with the landscape and historical values of the area. The project not only creates a solemn memorial space but also creates favorable conditions to organize traditional educational activities, welcoming students and visitors, and research.
The relic site is not only a place that marks a glorious period in the history of revolutionary struggle, but also an invaluable spiritual asset that needs to be preserved and promoted worthyly.

The victory of Cai Nuoc - Dam Doi and Cha La stronghold demonstrates creativity, the strategic motto of combining military struggle with political struggle. This is a battle that has gone down in the history of the Southwestern battlefield, contributing to strengthening strong confidence in the revolutionary cause and the Party's resistance guidelines.

To preserve historical events, commemorate and show gratitude for the contributions of previous generations and the revolutionary education address of the next generation, Ca Mau province decided to implement the project to build a historical relic of the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La victory and was ranked as a National Monument in 2016.
On November 23, 1963, under the leadership and command of the Military Region 9 Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, the Campaign Command, the Armed Forces of the Military Region, the army and people of Ca Mau province attacked, winning a great victory in the battle to destroy Cai Nuoc, Dam Doi and Cha La strongholds, breaking the "Authentic Forces" strategy, contributing to the bankruptcy of the enemy's "Special War" strategy. This is a brilliant milestone, marking a remarkable step of maturity in the leadership and command of the joint action of the army, people of Ca Mau and the armed forces of Military Region 9.

This victory demonstrates the creativity of the strategic motto of combining military struggle with political struggle, advance and insurrection. This is a battle that has gone down in the history of the Southwestern battlefield, contributing to strengthening strong confidence in the revolutionary cause and the Party's resistance guidelines.
