Lao Cai - Welcoming a Famtrip delegation from 6 countries to survey Sa Pa is expected to expand connectivity and increase the flow of international visitors to the locality.

On the afternoon of April 8, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province informed that in the first 3 months of 2026, the whole province welcomed about 3.5 million visitors, including more than 515,000 international visitors.

This is a welcome sign for international visitors to Lao Cai, especially countries such as China, South Korea, India, Philippines...

Yesterday (April 7) at Cat Cat tourist destination, Sa Pa ward, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province coordinated with the Vietnam Tourism Association and the Lao Cai Tourism Association to welcome a Famtrip delegation from 6 countries including Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Azerbaijan to survey Sa Pa destination, connecting tourism businesses.

The program takes place within the framework of the Vietnam International Travel Mart - VITM 2026, with a focus on exchanging cooperation capabilities, building tours, improving service quality and promoting attracting international visitors to Lao Cai.

After the reception, the delegates spent most of their time on the B2B discussion session between local tourism businesses and the international survey delegation.

According to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this Famtrip is not only an activity to promote destinations but also an opportunity for businesses from both sides to exchange specific information about tour routes, service prices, distribution mechanisms and communication coordination.

Lao Cai province also orients tourism products to increase practical experience, clarify cultural identity, cuisine and community life to create differentiation for Sa Pa destination.

During the survey journey, the delegation visited some tourist attractions in Sa Pa such as Sun World Fansipan Legend and Cat Cat tourist area, and expressed their impression of the scenery, the friendliness of the people, local cuisine and service quality.

Currently, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned 99 communes and wards to select 99 typical local dishes. After that, the province will establish a council to vote and build 34 unique meals of Lao Cai," shared the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
