According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, during the 5-day holiday from August 29 to September 2, 2026, the city is estimated to welcome 353,250 visitors, an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2025. Of which, international visitors are estimated at 6,970. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 421 billion VND, an increase of 13% compared to the same period.

Positive results during the holidays are creating more motivation for tourism businesses to prepare for the peak season at the end of the year. Many units are promoting the construction of tours and routes in the direction of personalization, while focusing on products with regional characteristics, cultural values, meeting the increasingly experiential tourism trend.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phu - Assistant to the Investor (Cantho Eco Resort) - said that tourism in the last months of the year is forecast to grow better than the same period, in which domestic tourists are still the group that businesses focus on exploiting.
According to Mr. Phu, after the COVID-19 epidemic, the needs of tourists have changed a lot. Instead of focusing on crowded destinations, tourists tend to choose resorts and accommodations with high personalization, combining many services and experiences.

At Cantho Eco Resort, businesses are strengthening products associated with Can Tho's characteristics, aiming to close the food supply chain for tourists. The unit also builds spaces reminiscent of the Mekong Delta such as rural markets, street vendors, and folk games.
We are oriented to develop a resort in harmony with nature, becoming a multi-experience destination, better meeting the needs of tourists in the coming time," Mr. Phu said.
At Vietravel Can Tho, the number of customers registering for year-end tours is currently increasing by about 15-20% compared to the same period. For the domestic market, customers are interested in short trips, experiencing the Mekong Delta and resorts such as Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat.
In foreign markets, the unit noted that Northeast Asian groups such as China, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan continue to be of interest in the autumn-winter season. The prominent tourism trend is that customers not only choose destinations but also increasingly focus on resorts combined with cultural, culinary and seasonal landscape experiences.
Ms. Luong Thi Quynh - Deputy Director of Vietravel Can Tho branch - said that in the autumn-winter period, the unit implements the Autumn Promotion Program with many preferential policies for each route and group of customers.
Specifically for domestic tours, customers will receive a direct discount of up to 3 million VND depending on the value and group of tours, and also receive additional travel gifts when meeting program conditions...
From the current signals, we see that year-end travel demand still has a lot of room, especially on autumn-winter, Christmas, New Year trips and short trips. This is the basis for expecting the market to continue to maintain purchasing power in the remaining months of the year," Ms. Quynh said.
