This is an annual spring festival in the Chay River area of Yen Binh district, attracting a large number of locals and tourists from all over to come and offer incense and pray for peace.
The Thac Ba Temple Festival has two parts. The ceremony includes rituals such as: carrying a palanquin of fish, carrying offerings, beating drums and gongs to open the festival, offering incense, offering wine, offering offerings and burning bamboo and paper.
During the festival, locals and tourists can participate in and cheer for games imbued with traditional cultural identity such as chess, stick pushing and cultural exchange.

The Thac Ba Temple Festival, held annually by Yen Binh District, not only preserves the spiritual and cultural beauty for people to show their respect and remember the merits of their ancestors, but is also an opportunity to educate today's generations to appreciate and preserve the national cultural identity. The festival creates a joyful and exciting atmosphere at the beginning of the new year.
With its confirmed historical, cultural and scientific values, Thac Ba Mau Temple was ranked as a provincial-level cultural and historical relic by the People's Committee of Yen Bai province and recognized as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism belonging to the Thac Ba Lake National Historical Relic and Scenic Landscape.
In 2023, Thac Ba Temple was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national historical and cultural relic.
Thac Ba Temple is located on Hoang Thi Mountain at an altitude of 70m above the foot of the mountain. The temple has an area of 1,800m2 facing northeast, leaning against the mountain, overlooking the Chay River.
Climbing 365 stone steps to the front door of the temple yard, visitors can see the whole view of the country's first hydroelectric project and admire the immense and charming sky and water of Thac Ba Lake.
