In the first 6 months of 2025, Hanoi is estimated to welcome 15.56 million visitors, an increase of 11.8% over the same period in 2024. The international tourist market alone reached 3.66 million, growing strongly at 22%. Of which, about 2.58 million international tourists are staying.
Total tourism revenue in the first half of this year is estimated at more than 62,300 billion VND. In June alone, revenue reached VND 10,350 billion, up 17.2% over the same period last year.
The average room occupancy rate in the first 6 months of the year reached more than 63%, down 0.7 percentage points over the same period in 2024.
Currently, Hanoi has 3,761 accommodation facilities with 71,256 rooms; including 85 hotels and apartment buildings with a rating period of 1-5 stars with a total of 11,965 rooms.
The city has 97 service businesses that have been approved to meet standards for serving tourists in food, shopping, entertainment and health care services.
To achieve impressive achievements in the first half of 2025, the capital's tourism industry successfully organized the Hanoi Tourism Festival, Hanoi Tourism gift Festival 2025... attracting tens of thousands of visitors.
Hanoi has been continuously honored on the world tourism map as being in the Top 3 most popular destinations globally (Trip Advisor), Top 25 favorite destinations of all time, Top 11 most attractive cities in the world (time Out Magazine).
In particular, many restaurants in Hanoi are honored in Michelin-starred categories, selection lists... contributing to attracting international diners to the capital to explore culinary culture.
In 2025, Hanoi aims to welcome 31 million visitors, including 7.5 million international visitors; total revenue from tourism will reach about 130,000 billion VND.
Aiming to attract visitors in the second half of 2025, in July, Hanoi will focus on preparing for major events such as Hanoi Drinking Festival, Cuisine - Craft Village Festival... Especially activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam's tourism industry and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Hanoi Department of Tourism.
The Department of Tourism will coordinate with the commune-level authorities after reorganizing and developing a Plan to organize the opening and launch of new tourism products with the theme: "Hanoi Tourism - The quintessence of the gathering in 2025".
