The Philippine Meteorological, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Agency (PAGASA) has just detected the first tropical depression in August, forming in the area near the East Sea. This weather phenomenon may affect the area in the coming days.
According to PAGASA's latest bulletin, broadcast at 3:00 a.m. on August 5, the tropical depression was recorded about 1,155km northeast of the northern tip of Luzon.

Previously, on the afternoon of August 4, this agency announced that it was monitoring a low pressure area off the coast of Northern Luzon.
Forecasters are continuing to closely monitor the developments of this weather phenomenon.
Regarding other weather forecasts, PAGASA noted that the southwest monsoon is expected to continue to affect the Visayas and Mindanao islands of the country, causing rain in the coming days.
In addition, localized thunderstorms are also possible in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.
In the August storm forecast , PAGASA experts also estimated that 2 to 3 tropical storms would form or enter the country's forecast area. Previously, in July, two tropical storms formed in the area around the East Sea.

Forecasters say that in the 2024 storm season, there will likely be 13 to 16 storms entering the Philippine forecast area from now until the end of the year. The region is known for having the most tropical storms in the world, with an average of 20 storms per year, of which eight or nine hit the Philippines.
From the above information, tourists planning to travel to the Philippines and surrounding areas should pay attention to regularly monitoring weather reports and warnings from local authorities.
Prepare carefully before your trip. If you plan to go to the beach or participate in outdoor activities, carefully check weather conditions and follow safety instructions.
