The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that mountainous areas and midlands of the North and North Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30mm, locally over 50mm.
From the evening of August 31 to the evening of September 2, the Central Highlands and the South will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall from 40-100mm, locally over 150mm, rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening.
The South Central region has scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 20-40mm, locally over 70mm, rain concentrated in the afternoon and night.
According to the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), a tropical depression is likely to intensify into a storm in the coming days. Although it is unlikely to move into the East Sea, the tropical depression will still indirectly cause the southwest monsoon to maintain its strength and cause prolonged rains in the South in September.
Warning: On the night of September 2, the Central Highlands and the South will have moderate to heavy rain, with some places experiencing very heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 15-30mm, with some places experiencing over 50mm; from September 3, heavy rain will gradually decrease. Residents and tourists should be on guard against tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
