Tourists change tour style, businesses innovate experiences

Ho Chi Minh City - No longer focusing on cheap prices, tourists are increasingly meticulous in choosing tours with reasonable and emotional schedules.

After the September 2nd holiday and entering the peak period of preparation for the year-end tour season, the tourism market recorded a clear shift in tourist tastes. No longer enthusiastic about simple sightseeing tours, tourists are willing to spend money on quality and experience-rich trips.

Therefore, travel businesses in Ho Chi Minh City proactively restructure products, shift focus to service quality and in-depth experience to meet the increasingly demanding needs of consumers.

Ms. Tran Phuong Linh - Marketing - Information Technology Director of BenThanh Tourist Company said that the current trend shows that tourists are no longer satisfied with normal tourism programs, traditional sightseeing and check-in but are eager to find new experiences, emotions and new lands.

Although the cost factor is always put first to consider, tourists are willing to spend money on worthy journeys. Therefore, the unit has launched unique and experiential tour packages such as swimming with whales in Cebu (Philippines), exploring islands by train in Indonesia.

According to records from Vietravel, tour booking data from September 2nd recently shows a clearer change in the way tourists choose vacations. Instead of just considering destinations or prices, tourists are increasingly focusing on balancing travel time, service quality, experience and total budget for the trip.

Instead of just comparing tour prices, tourists look more comprehensively at means of transportation, travel time, accommodation standards, itinerary and service quality at the destination. When the estimated budget changes, tourists often proactively adjust their plans by choosing a closer itinerary, changing travel methods, shortening travel time, or choosing suitable service standards instead of giving up the trip.

This shows that prices still play an important role but are no longer an independent factor in purchasing decisions. With the same budget level, programs with reasonable schedules, convenient connections and stable service quality are more advantageous.

Mr. Tran Doan The Duy - General Director of Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company said that this is also the basis for travel businesses to continue to adjust products, optimize schedules and improve service quality according to the actual needs of the market.
