According to information on the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of 2026 from Hai Phong City People's Committee, Hai Phong tourism is estimated to welcome and serve 8,723,550 visitors (exceeding the 6-month scenario of 8,443,000 visitors), an increase of 15.7% compared to the same period. Of which: 613,048 international visitors, 8,110,502 domestic visitors), revenue is estimated to reach 10,425 billion VND.
The city recognized 9 tourism establishments meeting the Green Tourism criteria of Hai Phong city, including 1 tourist attraction, 3 travel business establishments and 5 tourist accommodation establishments. At the same time, announcing the decision to recognize Vu Yen Tourist Area as a provincial-level tourist area.
In the first half of the year, June is the starting time of the summer tourism season, the demand for sightseeing, relaxation, accommodation, eating and entertainment of people and tourists increases.
In June alone, the city is estimated to welcome 2,582,000 tourist arrivals, (including: 116,034 international visitors, 2,465,966 domestic visitors), revenue according to average spending reached 3,098 billion VND.
Q2/2026 is estimated to welcome 5,764,000 visitors (exceeding the Q2 scenario of 5,644,000 visitors), an increase of 14% compared to the same period.
In the last 6 months of 2026, the city directs the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to build a dossier proposing the recognition of Cat Ba and Con Son - Kiep Bac as national tourist areas. Along with that, issue a Resolution on tourism development in accordance with Hai Phong's new strategy and plan to 2030, with orientations to 2045.
