Charity tourism helps poor children in Tua Chua, Dien Bien

On October 11, 2024, Vietravel organized a charity tourism program "Warm Clothes for Children 2024" to bring simple joys to teachers and students in difficult circumstances in Tua Chua, Dien Bien.

Huoi So Kindergarten was established in 2010 with 6 separate schools, the farthest school is 25km from the commune center. This is one of the most difficult schools in Huoi So commune, Tua Chua district, Dien Bien, when 100% of the children at the school are ethnic minorities, the economic life of the parents is still difficult. Up to 50.7% of the children are from poor and near-poor households, so going to school is still limited.

Based on the needs for necessary items for teaching at school, the gifts were carefully prepared, including: warm clothes, refrigerators, water tanks, water filters, backpacks, books, blankets, mosquito nets, pillows... All were carefully packaged, and the group departed from Hanoi to Dien Bien on October 10, and delivered to the children completely on October 11.

Not only having positive meanings, charity tours are also a bridge to bring tourists closer to attractive destinations such as Tua Chua - a district located in the Northeast of Dien Bien province, likened to a beautiful, shy mountain girl, hidden among the clouds of the Northwest.

With a terrain of 3/4 of the area being cat ear mountains, limestone mountains, steep slopes, few rivers and streams, Tua Chua makes visitors think of harshness and barrenness. However, this land is favored by nature, endowed with a fresh, cool climate all year round, pristine, majestic natural landscape with pine forests and rare ancient Tuyet Shan tea populations, along with a system of caves and beautiful terraced fields...

Coming to Tua Chua in October, you can also admire the golden ripe terraced fields running across the hills and mountains, surrounding the village in the cool autumn weather. Halfway up the majestic rocky mountain, the "Mam Ngoc" terraced fields in Hang Khua village, Sin Chai commune, appear like an artistic masterpiece. Each terraced field is stacked layer upon layer like "Mam Xoi" respectfully offered to the earth and sky...

Continuing the journey to explore Tua Chua, visitors have the opportunity to visit Sin Chai - the last commune in the North of Tua Chua district. This place is famous for its ancient Tuyet Shan tea and Mong Pe wine - a traditional drink distilled from corn, fermented with forest leaves that shimmer like honey. In addition, visitors also have the opportunity to admire ancient tea trees hundreds of years old, stretching out among the clouds and mountains.

The Golden Citadel was built nearly 3 centuries ago, located in the Ta Phin stone plateau, and is also one of the highlights of the journey to explore Tua Chua, Dien Bien. The citadel was built mainly of stone by the method of hammering and carving completely by hand, taking full advantage of the natural terrain, so the citadel wall has soft, curving lines. This is an architectural work of great historical and cultural value, an ancient cultural heritage of the Mong people in the Northwest mountains.

Nestled between two towering cliffs is the Pa Phong suspension bridge connecting the road from the center of Huoi So commune to the Huoi Long resettlement area, creating a poetic and lyrical landscape. Seen from above, the Pa Phong suspension bridge appears on the emerald green water, between two towering cliffs, making the scene here majestic.
