On the afternoon of January 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that during the 4 days of New Year holiday 2026 (January 1 - 4), tourism activities in the city recorded many positive signs. In which, visitors to tourist areas and attractions in Ho Chi Minh City are estimated at 1,240,000; international visitors to the city 75,726; room occupancy is estimated at about 75%; tourism revenue is estimated at 2,632 billion VND.
The number of international visitors to the city recorded a fairly high increase compared to the same period last year, mainly concentrated in the markets of Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe and Australia. International visitors tend to stay for short days, combining urban tours, culinary experiences, shopping and participating in New Year activities.

Along with that, the number of domestic tourists increased sharply, especially tourists from provinces and cities in the South and Central regions. Family groups and groups of young people chose Ho Chi Minh City as a place to have fun, participate in events and shop at the beginning of the year. Room occupancy rates at 3-5-star accommodation establishments and the central area reached high levels; types of accommodation outside the center, tourist apartments and homestays also recorded increased room booking rates compared to normal days.
In Binh Duong ward, the main number of visitors is domestic tourists and short-term visitors.
Vung Tau, Long Hai, Ho Tram, Ho Coc beaches also recorded a sharp increase in the number of visitors, especially visitors from the Southeast provinces. Many high-class resorts in Ho Tram, Long Hai achieve high room occupancy rates, even fully booked on peak days.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism assesses that revenue from tourism activities, accommodation services, food, shopping and entertainment have grown positively, creating a favorable starting atmosphere for the city's tourism industry in 2026.
To meet the increasing demand, travel businesses have proactively built and introduced many short-day tours, city tours, night experience tours, culinary tours and routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City with neighboring localities.
Accommodation establishments are implementing many preferential programs, improving service quality, and strengthening personnel during peak periods. Food, entertainment and commercial center service businesses are also expanding operating hours and renewing products to enhance the experience for tourists.
