In the first three months of 2026, Lao Cai tourism recorded positive growth signals with both the number of visitors and revenue increasing, creating favorable momentum to complete the target for the whole year.
According to statistics, in March 2026 alone, especially in the first two weeks of the month, the number of visitors to Lao Cai increased sharply.

The total number of tourists to Lao Cai in the month is estimated at about 1.75 million, of which international visitors reached about 262,000, accounting for nearly 15%. Revenue from tourism reached about 6,550 billion VND, equivalent to 12.8% of the annual plan.
Accumulated in the first 3 months of the year, the whole province welcomed about 3.4 million visitors, reaching more than 30% of the 2026 plan. In which, the number of international visitors is estimated at more than 515,000.
Total revenue from tourism reached about 12,872 billion VND, equivalent to 25.2% of the plan, clearly reflecting the recovery and breakthrough of the local tourism industry.
Favorable weather, majestic natural landscapes and the unique beauty of the highland spring, along with a series of cultural, tourism, and spiritual activities taking place vibrantly throughout the province, have contributed to making Lao Cai an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
Spiritual tourism activities, spring festivals, along with ecotourism products, trekking and exploring villages continue to attract a large number of experienced tourists.

The atmosphere at tourist areas, attractions, accommodation establishments and services in the area is always bustling. Tourism business units have proactively improved service quality, meeting well the needs of tourists to visit, relax and enjoy spring.
In addition, tourism promotion, market development and human resource training continue to be implemented synchronously. Tourist destinations in Lao Cai, Sa Pa and Y Ty recorded stable visitor numbers, contributing to maintaining the overall growth momentum.

Promoting the application of digital platforms in promotion also brings clear results, with hundreds of thousands of accesses, contributing to spreading the image of Lao Cai tourism to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
Linkage and cooperation activities for tourism development between Lao Cai and localities and international markets continue to be maintained, contributing to enhancing the province's tourism position and brand in the new period.
With the results achieved in the first quarter, Lao Cai tourism has a solid foundation to continue to break through in the coming time, towards completing the growth targets set out in 2026.
