During the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday of Binh Ngo 2026 (from February 14 to February 22), Quang Tri tourism recorded signs of recovery when welcoming about 409,000 visitors, an increase of 18.3% compared to the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, domestic visitors are estimated at 400,800, an increase of 17.5%; international visitors reached about 8,200, an increase of 20.9%. The domestic visitor market mainly comes from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Hue, Da Nang... Meanwhile, international visitors are concentrated from Europe (UK, Germany, France, Netherlands), North America (USA, Canada) and East Asia (Korea, China).
Traffic infrastructure serving tourism operates stably. Dong Hoi Airport operates 140 flights with 18,243 passengers. Dong Hoi and Dong Ha stations welcome a total of 181 trains; Dong Hoi Station alone has 10,925 passengers boarding and disembarking, Dong Ha Station recorded 8,659 arrivals. Average room occupancy rate at accommodation establishments reached about 45%.
During Tet, nature-discovery tourism products in the Phong Nha - Ke Bang area continue to attract visitors to start the year. Many cultural and historical destinations such as Hien Luong - Ben Hai banks, Quang Tri Citadel, General Vo Nguyen Giap tomb area... gather many tourists to visit at the beginning of the year.
Spring welcoming activities, festivals, Bai Choi, Spring flower markets, and fireworks displays are organized enthusiastically in many localities, creating a joyful and safe atmosphere. State management has been strengthened; environmental sanitation, food safety, and security and order in tourist areas and attractions are basically ensured.
Favorable weather, promotional activities on digital platforms and the proactiveness of businesses in implementing incentive programs have contributed to creating a good impression on tourists, opening tourism year 2026 with many growth expectations.
