Vinh Long tourism reaches over 189 billion VND for Binh Ngo Tet 2026

Vinh Long - During the Binh Ngo Tet 2026, tourism revenue of the whole province reached 185.1 billion VND, an increase of 14.4% compared to the same period; many destinations recorded a fairly high increase in tourists.

According to a report from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 (from February 14 - February 22), tourism activities in the area recorded many positive signs, both the number of visitors and revenue increased compared to the same period last year.

Total tourist arrivals are estimated at 210,178, an increase of 10.3% over the same period; of which international visitors are about 29,374, an increase of 26.1%. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 189.1 billion VND, an increase of more than 14.4% compared to 2025.

The average room occupancy rate at accommodation establishments reached about 60%, room rates were basically stable and listed correctly. Tourist attractions and entertainment venues attracted many tourists to visit, experience and take souvenir photos.

On the 6th day of Tet, on the way back to Ho Chi Minh City to work, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Hoa (Ca Mau province) visited Vinh Long Flower Pottery Street. She said that this year's mascot has a lively shape, the space is harmoniously decorated, imbued with the spring atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang (Dong Thap province) and a group of more than 10 friends chose Con Phung Tourist Area as their first destination of the year and stayed overnight. According to Mr. Hoang, the tourist destination is quite attractive, the resort is clean, and the prices are reasonable.

Mr. Duong Hoang Sum - Director of Vinh Long Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - said that this Tet holiday, state management of tourism is concerned; many cultural, artistic, culinary and folk games are organized synchronously, contributing to stimulating demand.

Tourism businesses proactively build incentive programs, recreate the spaces "Village Tet", "Old Tet", combine traditional cuisine and experiential activities, creating highlights to attract tourists. Security and order assurance, environmental sanitation have been strengthened, and no incidents affecting tourists have occurred.

Besides the achieved results, Mr. Sum also acknowledged that there are still some limitations such as traffic congestion on national highways, Dinh Khao ferry area affecting tourist psychology. The difficult economy also makes tourism spending demand not break through strongly.

In the coming time, the provincial tourism industry will continue to promote and diversify products, improve service quality and coordinate to remove traffic bottlenecks, aiming to improve the experience and retain tourists to return to Vinh Long in the following holidays.
