On the afternoon of September 10, informing Lao Dong, the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC) of Tuyen Quang province said that in recent days, the flood situation has been complicated, the water level of Lo River has risen. Many areas in Tuyen Quang city are deeply flooded.
"The Department is preparing a document to submit to the Provincial People's Committee a plan to stop organizing Thanh Tuyen Festival," said the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang province.
According to Lao Dong, on the afternoon of September 10, the Nguyen Tat Thanh Square area (Tuyen Quang City) where the main stage was arranged to host the opening ceremony of Thanh Tuyen Festival and Thanh Tuyen Night Festival 2024 was flooded. Many locations were flooded over 1 meter deep.
Rehearsals for the art performances at the program have stopped. Currently, the organizer is moving equipment and props from the stage to a higher location to avoid the flood waters of the Lo River.
According to Tuyen Quang Hydrometeorological Station, as of 7:00 p.m. on September 110, the water level of Lo River reached cos 27.40 m, above alert level 3 and rising. The number of central areas in Tuyen Quang City submerged in floodwaters continues to expand.

According to the original plan, the Festival to display intangible cultural heritage of humanity and the opening ceremony of Thanh Tuyen Festival 2024 will take place at 8:00 p.m. on September 13.
