Gia Lai - Artisans in traditional costumes performing gongs, playing with ham, pounding rice... express the cultural identity of ethnic groups.

On April 12, nearly 800 artisans representing ethnic groups in the area gathered at Dai Doan Ket Square (Pleiku city) to attend the 4th Gia Lai Province Ethnic Culture Festival in 2025.

The event took place over two days (September 12 and 13), with many special activities such as: Recreating community living spaces; performance of gongs, folk songs, folk dances and traditional musical instruments; gong techniques; performance of national costumes; walking on a club; competitions for supporting the bamboo and rice grinding with double clubs.

In particular, the festival also recreates many traditional rituals imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic groups such as: victory celebration, fealty of houses, rice celebration of new year, buffalo strikes, feasting, water drop offering, wedding ceremony, life celebration, thank-you ceremony and waterwalk to the village...

The highlight of the program is the art night "Ring of the origin" taking place on the evening of April 12, depicting the spirit of solidarity and cohesion between ethnic groups living in the land of Gia Lai.

The festival is organized annually by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province, aiming to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in the area.

This year's event has a special meaning, towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
