In recent years, tourism in Quy Nhon beach city (Gia Lai province) has developed rapidly, diversifying types of services. Sea tourism continues to play a key role, attracting a large number of tourists, especially during holidays, Tet and peak seasons.
However, sea entertainment products are still limited, lacking highlights, and not meeting the increasingly high needs of tourists. Therefore, it is necessary to add entertainment types suitable for the local economic and tourism development orientation.
In 2026, Gia Lai province hosts the 2026 National Tourism Year with the theme "Gia Lai - Great Forests Touching Blue Sea", towards sustainable development, strengthening links between the sea and the plateau, between culture and nature. This is an opportunity for the locality to innovate products, improve service quality and promote tourism image.
Responding to this series of events, Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee has proposed piloting sea game services using floating floating houses, in order to create more new products and increase the attractiveness of sea tourism.
According to the proposal, the pilot type is sea entertainment services using floating floating houses, without using engines, suitable for natural conditions and regional landscape. The implementation location is at beach Planning Point No. 3 - service area on sand (section from Le Loi extended road to Le Thanh Ton road). The pilot time is expected from February to September 2026.
The model is deployed with appropriate scale, clearly limiting the area, location and number of floating houses, ensuring compliance with planning and actual conditions.
In the process of operation, the organizing unit must fully ensure safety requirements; arrange on-duty rescue and relief forces; strictly implement regulations on marine environmental protection, not affecting the landscape, ecosystem and community life; proactively prevent and handle incidents at sea...
The pilot program aims to diversify sea tourism products, create highlights in the 2026 National Tourism Year; improve service quality, extend stays and increase tourist spending; create jobs and increase income for local people.
Based on the proposal, the Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee agreed in principle to allow Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee to pilot sea game services within the framework of the 2026 National Tourism Year.
Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee is responsible for coordinating with relevant departments and branches to guide, inspect, and supervise the implementation process; promptly report and propose handling arising issues.
At the end of the pilot period, the locality must organize a comprehensive summary and assessment of socio-economic efficiency, management work, environmental impact and impact on the community, as a basis for advising the Provincial People's Committee to consider and orient implementation in the coming time.
