Gia Lai welcomes nearly 850,000 visitors during Tet, revenue of 900 billion VND

Gia Lai - During the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, Gia Lai welcomed 848,000 tourist arrivals, with revenue of 900 billion VND, creating a strong boost for the tourism industry.

On February 23, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province said that during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the whole province is estimated to welcome 848,000 tourist arrivals, an increase of 16% compared to the same period in 2025. Of which, overnight visitors reached about 117,000, an increase of 25.5%. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 900 billion VND.

The Tet holiday lasts 9 days, from February 14th to the end of February 22nd, creating favorable conditions for people and tourists to arrange time to visit and relax.

From February 16 to February 22, there were about 216 flights to Phu Cat airport and Pleiku airport, an average of 24 flights/day, from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, Dieu Tri and Quy Nhon stations welcomed 252 train trips to/from, an average of 28 flights/day, meeting the increasing travel demand during peak season.

Throughout the Tet holiday, from February 9th to 20th, the province simultaneously organizes a series of activities to celebrate Binh Ngo Spring such as the inauguration of the mascot cluster, welcoming international tourist ships, art programs and fireworks displays in Quy Nhon and Pleiku wards; celebrating the 255th anniversary of the Tay Son Uprising and the 237th anniversary of the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da Victory at Quang Trung Museum; organizing "Binh Dinh Martial Arts Night 2026"; opening during Tet museums, relics, and outdoor performances at Doi Tower and Banh It Tower...

According to Ms. Do Thi Dieu Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province, accommodation business activities during Tet are stable; establishments strictly comply with regulations on registration, price listing, ensuring service quality, environmental sanitation, food safety and fire prevention and fighting. Tourist areas and attractions strengthen security and order, safety for tourists.

The number of visitors to tourist areas, attractions and festival spaces such as Ky Co, Eo Gio, Hon Kho, Pleiku Museum, Bien Ho... increased compared to the same period. In which, the majority are concentrated on New Year's Eve, spring festivals and experiential activities... Total visitors are estimated at 731,000, an increase of 14.2% compared to the same period last year.
