Tourists calculate more carefully for each trip
This summer tourism season recorded a trend of tourists calculating costs more carefully when planning resorts. Many families have to adjust their schedules, change destinations or shorten their stay time to suit the budget in the context of many high costs.
Ms. Phan Linh Nga (Hanoi) said that her family had to change travel plans several times because airfares increased.
“Initially, my family planned to go to Phu Quoc, but when calculating the total cost of air tickets for the whole family of 6 people, it exceeded the budget quite a lot. In the end, the family switched to a closer destination and traveled by car to save costs” - Ms. Nga shared.
According to Ms. Linh Nga, although she still wants to have a summer vacation for members to relax after a long time of studying and working, balancing finances is currently prioritized by the family.
With the same mentality, Ms. Nguyen Mai Linh (Hai Phong) said that her family still maintains the habit of traveling every summer but has significant adjustments in spending plans.
I still want to spend time resting with my family after months of stressful work. However, instead of going on long trips like before, this year I chose a shorter trip and booked the service early to get a good price" - Ms. Mai Linh said.
Business adapts to cost problems
According to Mr. Bui Thanh Tu - Marketing Director of BestPrice Travel Company, the summer travel demand of Vietnamese people is still maintained at a positive level. However, consumption trends are changing clearly as daily customers are increasingly interested in spending efficiency.
Customers today no longer decide based only on their favorite destination but will calculate the total budget for the entire trip. Airfares are a very large factor affecting the travel decisions of many families" - Mr. Bui Thanh Tu said.
Also according to travel experts, instead of choosing famous tours at all costs, many tourists are now more interested in service quality, cost transparency and the actual value received from the trip.
Customers are still willing to spend, but they want the amount of money spent to be commensurate with the experience they receive. The current trend is to travel more carefully calculated, not to completely cut down on resort demand" - Mr. Bui Thanh Tu shared.
Faced with increased cost pressure, travel businesses also proactively adjust their business strategies to meet new market demands.
Businesses are currently promoting early work with airline, hotel and transportation partners to optimize costs. At the same time, we are building more flexible tour packages such as weekday tours, family tours or economical combo packages so that customers have more choices suitable for their financial capacity" - said the travel expert.
Assessing solutions to stimulate tourism demand in the coming time, Mr. Tu said that price reduction is not the only direction.
When customers feel that the expense is reasonable and brings a memorable experience for the whole family, they will still be willing to choose to travel" - Mr. Bui Thanh Tu emphasized.
