On September 23 (local time), a working delegation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) led by Deputy Minister Ho An Phong worked with Google representatives in Mountain View (California, USA).
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong discussed and exchanged on the possibility of cooperation to promote Vietnam's culture, tourism and digital transformation in the fields of tourism, culture, arts and entertainment.
Recommending some contents to promote cooperation with Google in the coming time, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong said that in the field of perfecting policies on culture and tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes that Google will pay attention to and share international experiences on the laws of countries around the world related to the development of cultural industries and the system of policies on culture and tourism in the coming time. In the tourism sector, the Deputy Minister proposed to continue promoting cooperation activities between Google and the Vietnamese tourism industry based on priorities of strongly innovating content and methods of tourism promotion.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested Google to continue to pay attention to effectively implementing projects to promote the image of the country, people and culture of Vietnam on the online platform Google Arts & Culture.
A representative of Google Group said that it will continue to carry out projects to support communication, promote tourism and Vietnamese culture; support digital transformation and digital content creation in the fields managed by the Ministry.
In particular, YouTube will select and invite a number of famous content creators in key markets to Vietnam to promote Vietnam's landscapes and culture to these markets and internationally; continue to support the YouTube channel of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
For Google Art & Culture, Google is discussing with the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to deploy some UNESCO-recognized sites on the platform, discussing the possibility of localities proactively building online exhibitions with technical support from this non-profit digital museum platform.

Deputy Minister Ho An Phong said that Google plays a big role in developing tourism and cultural industry in Vietnam.
Regarding Google's proposal to amend Vietnam's Advertising Law, Deputy Minister acknowledged Google's comments to ensure that the amended Law will create fair opportunities for businesses when participating in advertising in the digital environment. Mr. Ho An Phong said that he will assign relevant agencies of the Ministry to receive comments from companies and corporations, and synthesize them during the process of drafting the Law to submit to the National Assembly for approval.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will direct and accompany localities to continue implementing projects with Google. Support Vietnamese businesses, create promotional conditions for businesses to take the lead in bringing Vietnamese tourism products to the world, especially to the US market.
Deputy Minister Ho An Phong hopes to connect Vietnamese cinema with the US. This is one of the ways to introduce destinations, including filming locations and the cultural quintessence of Vietnam, which can be combined with Hollywood films. From there, major film projects filmed in Vietnam will be born.
