visitors to Hanoi increase dramatically
Since the April 30th Festival, many Vietnamese visitors have eagerly learned about information and booked tickets early to Hanoi to join in the heroic and joyful atmosphere of the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
Ms. Hoang Yen (33 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) said: "This year's September 2 holiday lasts 4 days, just enough for me to participate in a Hanoi tour with friends. We chose the capital to wait and watch the parade, and visit the Doctor's Mausoleum on this special occasion".
According to Mr. Pham Van Bay - Deputy Director of Vietravel Hanoi, since June, the company has proactively prepared early for the September 2 holiday with many domestic and international schedules, ensuring diverse routes, times and price segments. 1,500 seats for this departure trip were filled nearly 40% in the first week of August.
Many travel agencies have recorded a sudden increase in the number of visitors booking trips to Hanoi or tourist routes connecting to Hanoi such as Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa... In particular, visitors tend to stay in the capital on September 2 to attend the parade and parade at Ba Dinh Square and some central streets.
Mr. Bui Thanh Tu - Marketing Director of Best Price Tourism Company - informed that the number of tourists booking tours this year has increased by about 18-20% compared to the same period last year. Mr. Tu said: "For tourists in the capital, we promote tours oriented towards culture - history, suitable for the needs of tourists during the September 2 event such as exploring the Vietnam Military History Museum, Hanoi Craft Village, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Mot Cot Pagoda, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi Old Quarter...".
Meanwhile, Vietravel focuses on promoting a series of tours for the GenZ generation with the criteria of "loving the country within our Gen" such as: Combo domestic tourism, travel to trendy destinations such as Dong Bac Tay, Ninh Binh, cross-Vietnam journey with prices starting from only 2.4 million VND. In addition, coastal tourism destinations such as Nha Trang, Da Nang, Binh Dinh... are always of interest to tourists during the peak summer months.
Mr. Tu added: "In the international market, popular destinations include Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Singapore and Northeast Asia such as Korea, China, Taiwan (China)...".
Airfares increase sharply, tour prices stabilize
In addition to package tours, airfares and hotels continue to be a priority product for customers during this year's September 2 holiday.
Mr. Bui Thanh Tu said: "The number of bookings for airline - hotel combos of the company on the occasion of National Day increased by about 25% compared to the same period last year. Airfares have increased by an average of 20-30% compared to normal days, while some routes such as Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi may increase. Hotel rooms also increased slightly by about 15-25%, depending on the area".
According to records in mid-August, the price of return air tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi on August 30 to September 2 was from 4.3-6.3 million VND/person. At the same time, the price of round-trip tickets from Da Nang to Hanoi is from 3-4.3 million VND/person, Nha Trang - Hanoi from 2.7-4.7 million VND/person...
The increase in airfares and hotel rooms is also a factor that makes tour prices tend to increase. However, many travel businesses try to keep the best prices for customers with prices only increasing by about 5-15% compared to normal days.
Travel agencies recommend that tourists should proactively book tours early to avoid the situation of "sold out" and high prices at the last minute, especially tours traveling by air. In addition, hotels in the center of Hanoi and streets near Ba Dinh Square will also be fully booked in August.
The number of visitors to the capital is expected to explode during this time. Therefore, tourists need to proactively transport their travel vehicles, arrange appropriate travel schedules, avoid flight delays or attend important events.
