On August 7, at a regular Government press conference, Major General Tong Van Thanh - Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - provided information related to preparations for parades and parades to serve the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 (A80 event).
Major General Tong Van Thanh said that the parade and marching activities were assigned by the Central Government to the Ministry of National Defense to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hanoi People's Committee and relevant departments, ministries, branches and agencies to organize at Ba Dinh Square on the morning of September 2.
The functional units conducted a field survey at Ba Dinh Square, the gathering area, the parade route, organized workshops and asked for opinions from relevant ministries, branches and localities.
There are 6 forces participating in the parade. In which, the parade and marching forces included 4 suspected blocks and 43 blocks representing the People's Armed Forces.
Of these 43 blocks, 26 blocks are occupied by the Army and 17 blocks are occupied by the Ministry of Public Security. Our country has also invited 4 countries including China, Russia, Laos and Cambodia to participate.
Major General Tong Van Thanh said that the sea parade will take place simultaneously in Khanh Hoa province, broadcast live from the sea to Ba Dinh Square.
For the mass parade and cultural and sports groups, after going through the stage, they will be divided into routes to travel and participate in cultural and artistic exchanges at Quan Ngua Cultural Palace and August Revolution Square.
Regarding the training results, up to now, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security have directed the organization of training from the beginning of May 2025. Currently, the forces have organized 4 training sessions and 2 general training sessions.
Through the training sessions and synthesis, the quality has met requirements, implemented in accordance with the set program and plan. Up to now, the spirit, responsibility, health and technical conditions of the blocks are all ready to carry out the official task.
Major General Tong Van Thanh also informed: At 8:00 p.m. on August 21 and 24, there will be a general training session for the armed forces; State-level preliminary approval at 8:00 p.m. on August; State-level preliminary approval at 6:30 a.m. on August 30.; and the official celebration will take place at 6:30 a.m. on September 2, 2025.
According to Major General Tong Van Thanh, through the parade and Marching activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day on September 2, the message is conveyed: affirming the position, great stature and great historical value of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the history of national construction and defense.
Along with that is the continuous and strong development of the People's Army, Militia and Self-Defense Forces and the People's Public Security over the past 80 years under the wise leadership of the Party.
