On March 7, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the Plan to organize the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2026.
According to the plan, the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2026 is expected to take place in 7 days, from May 9 to 15. In which, the Art Program Night celebrating the 71st anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and the opening of the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival 2026 will be held at 8 pm on May 13 at the Square in front of the Political - Administrative Center belonging to the North Song Cam New Urban Area, Thuy Nguyen ward. Immediately after the ceremony and festival part, there will be a fireworks display program at the Square of the City Political - Administrative Center.
Besides the main festival night, this year's festival is also associated with many exciting side activities such as incense offering activities to commemorate heroic martyrs and comrade Nguyen Duc Canh; the thematic exhibition "Hai Phong in the flow of history through archival documents" taking place from May 8 to May 14; organizing the groundbreaking ceremony and inauguration of key projects along with a series of promotional activities, introducing cultural, tourism, and sports products throughout the city...
To ensure that the festival is organized thoughtfully, the City People's Committee plans to establish the Organizing Committee of the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2026, headed by Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung as Standing Deputy Head. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be the standing agency assisting the Organizing Committee. The funding for implementation is mobilized from the budget and socialization.
At the meeting, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported in detail on the draft decisions to establish the Organizing Committee and Sub-committees, reported and proposed the theme of the Festival, the script plan for the art program of the festival night, the plan for installing stands and the expected guest list.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung basically agreed with the proposal of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the theme of the festival being "Hai Phong - Red Sparks, Aspiration to reach far".
Regarding the art program of the festival night, the Vice Chairman assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to closely coordinate with directors and event organizers to develop detailed scripts, ensuring high artistic value, imbued with Hai Phong cultural identity, and at the same time showing the dynamic and modern development of the city.
Departments, branches, and localities proactively develop plans to implement assigned tasks, ensuring progress, quality, and absolute safety for festival activities.
