To ensure traffic order and safety, limit traffic congestion in the Dong Bai ferry terminal access road area (Cat Hai special zone), the Department of Construction temporarily suspends the receipt of specialized vehicles carrying cars and trucks through Dong Bai ferry (in the direction to Cat Ba island) from April 25 to May 3 and weekends from May 9 to September 30.
The temporary stop is from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. During the temporary stop, visitors can go to Cat Ba Island by cable car, high-speed train and bus.
In the first 3 months of 2026, the number of tourists to Cat Ba is estimated at 552,175, equal to 112.4% compared to the same period in 2025. According to the report, the Ferry Line Exploitation Joint Venture (Hai Phong Waterway Traffic Assurance Joint Stock Company and Cat Ba Bay View Co., Ltd.) has put into operation a total of 7 ferries (including 5 large ferries and 2 small ferries), performing 4,668 trips.
Transportation volume reached 62,182 car trips, 52,305 motorbike trips, 4,668 bicycle trips and 234,340 pedestrian trips, an increase of about 30% compared to the same period in 2025...
Passenger transport activities through the Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry route are organized safely and smoothly, without traffic congestion at both ends of the wharf.
